As Kohm & Spychalla LLC, we operate North America's first
private seed potato certification program. We certify only
potatoes that we produce ourselves.
Our seed program defines "certification" as the description of a
seed lot's provenance and pathogen load.
The biology of each individual pathogen dictates our approach to
quantifying its' presence in a seed lot. Over the course of the
next year we will be constructing a "Quality Manual" which will
describe the workings of our seed program as per the
APHIS/UDSA/PPQ State National Harmonization Program's
(SNHP) suggested template view.
